How to Bookstagram
Bookstagram (book-stagram)
Definition: Bookstagram is a community of book-related Instagram who post about books, photography, fangirling/fanboying about books or more. A social media platform where we all come together.
Here's an unofficial guide to the world of bookstagram!
Things you'll need:
- Smartphone with the app Instagram.
-Books, Depending on what type of books or theme's you want your bookstagram to present.
(Recommended)
- Props for backgrounds and additional items for pictures such as flowers, candles, stationery etc.
-
- VSCO CAM APP (Available on play store & apple ) to create filters and/or fix photos.
Choosing A Bookstagram name.
Tips for starters
Keep it short. The best part of bookstagram is giving yourself a name, the easier to remember the better for other bookstagrammers to follow and recognize you.
Be Yourself! Make it as meaningful as a true bookworm would, also easier to remember for logging in.
Unique & Inspirational. Choosing a name can always have its predicaments (especially when mine was hellokittycyn) but nothing is permanent and you can always change it.
Uploading a profile picture.
📍 There are millions of different themes to choose from it can be anything book related in all honesty. Pictures of your favorite book, bookshelves, a selfie anything!
Creating a unique bio.
📍 I am very bad at describing myself but here are some helpful tips my extraordinary friend Cynthia (Yes she's my twin, love you boo!) gave me. Although bios are supposed to be about yourself, add whatever you want! Favorite quotes, Current reads, Book goals anything book related.

First Uploads.
My first photo on Instagram holds a bit of a sentimental value to me so here's a sneak peek. 📍 Now that your profile is set, time to post. Take a simple picture and Include the author and a synopsis. Introduce yourself and why you are on Instagram. Include some book related hashtags #bookworm #authorsname #bookcompany #bibliophile #booklife #bookstagram that way bookstagrammers can find you easily.
